This month of May I'm going to feature some of the absolute best episode of the great shows that adapted classic movies for radio! Hollywood Screen Playhouse, Screen Actors Guild, Academy Award Theater, Hollywood Radio Theater and the Grand Classic Lux Radio Theatre. (Check them out under Listening to OTR section)
The Lux Radio Theatre ran for 21 years most of that run on CBS and featured adaption of some the best Hollywood movies of the era and starred top talent too; many original actors and actress recreating their most famous roles. The host for almost 10 years was the famous director Cecil B. DeMille and was replaced in last years by William Keighley. Lux would be in the Top 10 shows for most of it's run and featured great radio actors as well.
The show was broadcast live from Hollywood to allow the best opportunity to get the best talent from Hollywood to appear.
