Rin Tin Tin is one of the most famous animal character of the 20th century. A real German Shepard that fought along American soilders during WWI and was rescued and trained to do stunts in front of the camera during silent film era. Instantly popular he went on to star in 27 films. The classic character developed and went into sound pictures, radio and eventual television.
Several different radio series existed running from 1930-1955. Early shows ran for 15 minutes and the 1955 show was 30 minute program.
The real Rin Tin Tin did appear briefly on the original series but died in 1932 and was replaced by sound effects man Bob Barker.
