Hanley Stafford would be added to play "Daddy" Lancelot Higgins and would be Snooks foil for the next 20 years. The Baby Snook skits would appear on numerous variety shows from 1934 to 1944 when The Maxwell House show was cancled in 1944 The Baby Snooks Show became a half hour sitcom. A whole family was added Mommy, Ropespierre her little brother and Danny Thomas played the Postman. Snook was one of many bad little kids played by adults, Edgar Bergen's Charlie McCarthy, Marian Jordan's Teeny, and Red Skelton's Junior "Mean Widdle Kid" but Snooks was not as smart or mean more enduring and sweet.
The show was successful because of Brice's dedication to the character, she would appear on stage behind the mike dressed as a little girl. Brice would die of a cerebral hemorrhage in 1951 at age 59 with the show still going strong.
Many of the Skits exist from the variety show but not many of the half hour...Here is one of the Half hour episode the sound quality is poor but its still a fun show.
